Grand Prix week brings the roar of engines to Melbourne and this year, the buzz of a 465,000-strong crowd. But why just watch when you can also race? With Grand Prix go kart racing, you swap the grandstand for the driver’s seat and experience the same adrenaline that fuels the pros.

At Ace Karts, our 700-metre outdoor track delivers the thrill of real racing: top speeds up to 75 km/h, tight corners, and a track built for wheel-to-wheel battles. Whether it’s a high-energy group activity, a corporate event, or a weekend challenge with mates, it’s your chance to chase the chequered flag and feel like a champion.

So what makes a Grand Prix-style karting session such an unforgettable racing event compared to just spectating?

Why Grand Prix Karting is the top racing experience

There’s nothing like the rush of taking on a real circuit where every corner counts and every lap could be your fastest. Unlike a day at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit visitor centre, where you can only look at the track displays, Ace Karts puts you behind the wheel.

  • Outdoor authenticity: Our 700 m track with a 105 m straight recreates the feel of pro racing.
  • Serious speed: Hit up to 75 km/h in high-performance SodiKarts built for precision.
  • Every driver included: From rookies to seasoned racers, there’s a kart and format to suit.
  • Thrill factor: It’s an adrenaline-fuelled challenge that beats any game or simulator.

This isn’t just another racing activity. It’s the closest you’ll come to a Grand Prix race without lining up on the F1 grid.

Mini GP facilities and race details

Step onto Australia’s largest outdoor go-karting circuit and see why Ace Karts is Melbourne’s most impressive racing venue. At 700 metres long with a 105-metre straight, the track is purpose-built for both speed and safety, with wide corners and run-off zones that invite every driver to test their limits.

Your race begins with qualifying, where consistency and precision matter as much as courage. Each lap builds anticipation, and the atmosphere is pure excitement when you line up for the main event. The corners demand commitment, the straights unleash raw speed, and the final dash to the finish line is as intense as any sporting contest. Some drivers push the limit with a daring drift, while others focus on clean lines and lap time perfection. Either way, every race has its own drama.

The best part? The action never stops.

Mini Grand Prix packages for groups and parties

The Mini Grand Prix package delivers an authentic karting showdown on our outdoor track, not just a replica go kart track or an arcade-style game. Perfect for a group of mates, colleagues, or party-goers, it transforms a day out into a real race day.

Each event starts with qualifying laps where drivers push for their fastest lap. The pressure builds across a series of 10-minute heats, growing more intense and competitive as the grid tightens. By the time the grand final race arrives, the atmosphere is pure excitement, with the live leaderboard tracking every move and the chequered flag waiting at the end.

Whether it’s a go karting birthday party, or bucks party, the Mini Grand Prix guarantees an incredible race experience. Expect the rush of sliding into corners, the thrill of a perfectly timed drift, and the satisfaction of stepping onto the podium in front of your crew. With our friendly staff guiding you through every stage, all you need to do is tune your focus, jump into the go karts, and get ready to race.

The atmosphere is pure buzz from the moment your group arrives. Our friendly staff handle check-ins, gear, and safety briefings so everyone can focus on the fun.
