Arrive at the track at least 45 minutes before your booked session. Head to reception to check in, finalise payment if needed, and sign your waiver. This gives you plenty of time to get settled before racing begins.

02

Gear fitting & safety briefing

Our team will provide you with a helmet and all the gear you need. You’ll then attend a mandatory safety briefing, during which marshals explain kart controls, flag signals, and track rules, making sure everyone is ready to race confidently.

03

Race sessions (duration depends on package)

Each race session runs for 10 minutes. Push for your best lap times on Melbourne’s premier outdoor track. Choose 1, 2 or 3 races depending on how intense you want your day to be.

04

Return & results

Race tips from the track team

Want to shave seconds off your lap time? Here are some quick tips from our crew to help you get the most out of your arrive and drive kart racing session.

  • Wear closed shoes and comfortable clothing for better control.
  • Hold the wheel firmly, but don’t grip too tightly.
  • Always brake before corners, never during.
  • Keep your shoulders relaxed to stay smooth.
  • Look ahead through corners, not at the kart in front.
  • Accelerate steadily out of bends for more speed.
  • Follow the marshal's instructions at all times.

Frequently asked questions

Got questions about Arrive and Drive karting? Here are the answers to the things we get asked most.

Can I race with my child?

Arrow down white icon

Yes. Kids aged 6–11 can drive a Rookie Kart, and children as young as 4 can join in a 2-Seater Kart with an adult. Our family race sessions are designed to make it easy for parents and kids to enjoy the track together in a safe, fun environment.

How many laps do I get per session?

Arrow down white icon

Each race runs for 10 minutes, usually averaging around 12 laps depending on your pace. For drivers wanting longer stints or extra intensity, our exclusive race packages can give you more time on the track with just your group.

Is it safe to race in the rain?

Arrow down white icon

Yes. Our outdoor circuit runs rain, hail or shine, with safety marshals ensuring every session is under control. In fact, some racers love the challenge of wet weather, and we explain why in our guide on what makes our karts so good.

Can I upgrade to more races on the day?

Arrow down white icon

Absolutely. If you finish one race and want more, you can add extra sessions on the spot (subject to availability). To plan ahead, check out all our pricing options before you book.

How long should I allow for my visit?

Arrow down white icon

Plan to be at the venue for at least an hour, even for a single race. This covers check-in, the safety briefing, gearing up, your session, and reviewing your lap times afterwards.
